Other Performances

The MSO has been invited to perform for charitable and philanthropic occasions. This page shows when and where our musicians have performed for such events. Each event's roster of musicians is also provided, along with repertoire for select events. Note that this only applies to official MSO events; any event where MSO members performed while not representing the orchestra is not included here.

The orchestra is honored to be an active member of the Monroe and Greater Monroe community. As the only non-collegiate performing ensemble in Monroe, we are always happy to be a part of community celebrations and commemorations.

If you are interested in getting in contact with the MSO to collaborate for such a performance, please contact us using the form on this page. Before submitting this form, please keep a few things in mind. First, as a community-based nonprofit organization, the MSO will never ask for a payment for such events nor accept payments for its musicians, but donations are always welcome. Second, as we are based in Monroe, we do prioritize events in Monroe over all others, followed by our neighboring towns (Newtown, Trumbull, Easton, Oxford, and Shelton). While we will not rule out events outside of these six towns, we are not as likely to accept such invitations due to logistics. Third, we give priority to public events over private events so as to keep to our basis as a community organization. Finally, if you or your organization wish for us to perform with/for you, we do ask that you help to make arrangements for a rehearsal venue and time (to our choosing, based on our musicians' availability) prior to the event. Any rehearsal must be free of charge (i.e. the MSO cannot accept any invitations where it must pay to perform or rehearse). We thank you for your understanding.

September 11th, 2026: musicians from the MSO performed for the annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony hosted by the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department.

Season III

September 2026

The MSO was invited to participate in multiple events during this month.

The first was on September 10th, 2026. This event, Voices that Shaped a Nation, was hosted by Save Our Stepney at the Stepney Green in Monroe. The orchestra performed the Prelude from Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite, the Finale - Tema Russo from Pyotyr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings, and an arrangement of America the Beautiful by Katherine Lee Bates and Samuel A. Ward which was done by H. S. Gardner. The members of the orchestra were as follows: Violin I - Kyle Berkoski, Anat Shiloach, Richard Bierut, and Elina Stelman (on flute); Violin II - Avinash Veeraraghav, Sarah St. Pierre, and Aryan Ramnaress; Viola - Anand Veeraraghav; Cello - Sachi Patitucci and Ellawood Pullen.

The second was on September 11th at Monroe Volunteer Fire Department No.1 for the annual commemoration of the September 11th attacks. The group performed the same arrangement of America the Beautiful as well as Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings. It consisted of: Violin I - Kyle Berkoski, Meagan DeBona, Richard Bierut, and Jen DiZazzo; Violin II - Avinash Veeraraghav, Sarah St. Pierre, and Aryan Ramnaress; Viola - Anand Veeraraghav and Anthony Granata; Cello - Sachi Patitucci and Ellawood Pullen; Double Bass - John Patitucci.

The group's final event for September will be on the 19th, again with Harmony Grange No. 92.

Season II

May 2026

The MSO was invited to perform for two events on May 2nd, 2026. The first event was with Harmony Grange No. 92 in Monroe for that organization's Spring Craft Fair. Four MSO musicians - Anat Shiloach (Violin I), Avinash Veeraraghav (Violin II), Anand Veeraraghav (Viola), and Tracy Bosley (Cello) - performed a selection of works as a quartet. Anand performed as a solo player as well.

The MSO was also invited to participate in the Relay For Life of Greater Danbury's Superheroes Unite at the Danbury Fair Mall. Avi and Anand performed a variety of works as a violin/viola duet.
